CCBC Choices Workshop: Great New Books for Birth – Grade 12

Join us for book talks with CCBC Librarians as they highlight this year’s best books for ages birth to 18! Recommended books from this year’s CCBC Choices will be available for hands-on book examination during lunch. This free event is open to library professionals and educators who work with babies, children, and teens. Come for the whole day, or just the morning or afternoon!
- 9:30 – 10:00am: Book browsing and light refreshments
- 10:00 – 11:15am: Great New Books for Birth – Grade 5
- 11:15-1:00: Book Browsing & Break
- Pizza and garden salad will be provided or enjoy lunch on your own at a downtown restaurant
- 1 – 2:15pm: Great New Books for Grades 6-12
- 2:15-2:30pm: Q&A with CCBC librarians
- 2:30 – 3:30pm: Guided tour of Appleton Public Library
The list will not be distributed in print format; a downloadable copy will be shared prior to the event date.
The Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC), located on the UW-Madison campus, serves as a children’s literature noncirculating library for adults, a book examination center, and a research library. It is supported by an annual contract with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, Division for Libraries and Technology.
This workshop is sponsored by the Northeastern Wisconsin (NEWI) library systems – Manitowoc-Calumet Library System, Nicolet Library System, Outagamie-Waupaca Library System, and Winnefox Library System.
