The CCBC Choices 2020 workshop has been cancelled

This in-person workshop has been cancelled, based on the March 15, 2020 CDC guidance on Mass Gatherings or Large Community Events,

  • Megan and Merri are planning online presentations about the CCBC Choices 2020 books, which will be offered via GoToWebinar and will be archived for viewing anytime. Details and login info TBA.
  • If you haven't already received your library's copy of the CCBC Choices 2020 booklet, you can download it as a PDF to see all 245 books highlighted in the publication.

10 - 11:30am Great New Books for Children, Birth - Grade 5
11:30am - 1pm lunch
1 - 2:30pm Great New Books for Older Children and Teens, Grades 6-12
2:30 - 3pm book browsing

Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC) librarians Merri Lindgren, Megan Schliesman, and Madeline Tyner will talk about Great New Books for Children and Great New Books for Teens, highlighting selected books from CCBC Choices 2020.

Books included in CCBC Choices 2020 will be available for hands-on examination.

A single copy of CCBC Choices 2020 will be sent to each public library in Wisconsin in mid-March, and Merri and Megan usually bring additional copies for workshop attendees.

The Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC), located on the UW-Madison campus, serves as a children's literature library for adults, a book examination center, and a research library.

This workshop is sponsored by the Northeastern Wisconsin (NEWI) library systems – Manitowoc-Calumet Library System, Nicolet Federated Library System, Outagamie-Waupaca Library System, and Winnefox Library System.
